The
Senate committee on foreign affairs has continued screening of 47 ambassadorial
nominees appointed by President Muhammadu Buhari.
This was disclosed by our correspondent in the National Assembly. These nominees are presently being screened at the National Assembly in Abuja.
Present at the
screening are Monsurat Summonu, the chairman Senate committee on Foreign Affairs,
Shehu Sanni, representing Kaduna Central senatorial district, Ita Enang,
Senior Special Assistant to President, Eyinnaya Abaribe representing Abia South
senatorial district among others.
The screening
commenced yesterday, Tuesday, July 26 with only 15 ambassadorial nominees
screened out of 47. President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday, June 9, released
the list of Ambassadorial nominees.
This was contained in a letter sent to Senate president Bukola Saraki. This was disclosed after Saraki read out the list of the 47 ambassadors on the floor of the Senate.

According to the
letter, the nominees are career diplomats who will oversee Nigeria’s mission
outside the country.
However, the Senate
today, July 20, begins consideration and screening of 47 ambassadorial
nominees sent by President Muhammadu Buhari for approved.
The 15 ambassadorial
nominees that were screened. They include:
1. Vivian Okeke from
Anambra state.
2. Enoch Pearduchi
from Kaduna state.
3. Ibrahim Isah from Niger state.
4. Hakeem Toyeen Balogun from Lagos state.
5. Jane Ada Ndem from Benue state.
6. Ogundero Mobolaji
Shakirat from Oyo state.
7. Lilian Ijeukwu Onoh
from Enugu state.
8. K. C Nwachukwu from Imo state.
9. Baba Garba from Kano state.
10. Audu Ayinla Kadiri
from Kwara state.
11. Rabiu Akawu from
Kano state.
12. Salisu Umaru from
Adamawa state.
13. Janet Olisa from
Delta state.
14. Hassan Muhammed
Hassan from Borno state.
15. Manaja Tula
Isa from Gombe state.
