Etisalat Nigeria Taking Over By Access Bank and Others Due To $1.72 Billion (About N541.8 Billion) Debt

A group of Nigerian and foreign banks led by Access Bank PLC have taken over the management of Etisalat Nigeria following a collapse of efforts to reach an agreement with the banks on debt restructuring plan in the protracted $1,72 billion debt impasse.

The takeover became effective as at June 15th. Emerging Markets Telecommunication Services, EMTS, promoted by a former Chairman of United Bank for Africa, UBA, Hakeem Bello-Osagie, had been making efforts to arrive at an agreement on debt restructuring plan but the failure of that led to the takeover by the consortium of banks.

However, EMTS Holding B.V. has up to June 23 to complete the transfer of 100 percent of the company’s shares in Etisalat to the legal representative of the consortium of banks, United Capital Trustees Limited.

Christiano Ronaldo To Appear In Court July 31 Over €14.7 Million Tax Evasion Allegation

Cristiano Ronaldo will appear in court on July 31 following allegations of tax evasion from Spanish prosecutors, according to reports
The Spanish media have claimed the Real Madrid star must be in the courtroom in Pozuelo at 11am local time for the beginning of the case.
Ronaldo has been accused by prosecutors of defrauding Spanish tax authorities out of €14.7million, a claim he has strenuously denied.

The four-time Ballon d’Or winner is alleged to have created a “business structure” in 2010 to conceal his earnings from image rights between 2011 and 2014.
The allegations have led to uncertainty about the 32-year-old’s future at the Santiago Bernabeu, with Manchester United linked as a possible destination should he opt to leave Spain.
Madrid president Florentino Perez defended the superstar on Monday and insisted he would not be letting his prized asset leave unless a club can meet his €1billion buyout clause.

Toyo Baby (Juliana Olayode) of Jenifa Dairy Finally Removes Toyo Baby From Her Biography

Actress Julian Olayode Popularly called Toyosi in Jenifa Diary has finally removed Toyo Baby from her biodata on Instagram.
She had always used Toyo Baby on her bio but as she celebrated her birthday recently, she removed it.

Toyo Baby left the set of Jenifa’s Diary last season due to a misunderstanding between her and the lead actress, Funke Akindele.

All finger pointed at Funke’s husband, JJC Skillz but he denied it in an interview. Explaining why Juliana left, JJC said, “I don’t know why Toyosi left and it has nothing to do with me. Just like any character in a TV series, she can go and return. The only permanent character in the series is Jenifa. Falz has gone and came back. In the script Toyosi is married and has gone to France with her husband to live for a while. So, anything can happen. When she comes back, you’d see her on screen, if not, then that’s what the script said.”
She was said to have also unfollowed Funke on IG.

Court Ordered Mary J. Blige To Pay Estranged Husband US$30,000 A Month

A judge has ordered Mary J. Blige to pay her estranged husband $30,000 a month in temporary spousal support, and oddly, that's being looked at as a win for her.
Her ex, Martin Isaacs, had actually requested that she pay him $129,319 per month for spousal support.
TMZ reported that the court found Martin's number to be unrealistic, but felt that he was entitled to a good chunk of money since that's the lifestyle he had grown accustomed to living during his 12-year marriage to the R&B legend. She had tried to block him from getting spousal support.
Earlier reports suggested the duo did not have a prenuptial agreement.
The report noted that Mary will also have to pay retroactive spousal support dating back to September, in addition to his attorney fees, which total $235,000.
Mary filed for divorce in July 2016. In her divorce filing, she listed the date of separation as "to be determined," which was rather strange.

"I know many Nigerian youth are enterprising and can – do. It is not oil or gas that are Nigeria’s most important resources but its people. The human capital that Nigeria has – Nigerians themselves and their drive, determination and ability to get things done often when facing challenges – are what make me optimistic about Nigeria future.”
