Jay Jay Okocha Hails President Koroma of Sierra Leone Energy Revolution

Renowned former world footballer and Olympic gold medalist, Nigerian-born Austin Jay Jay Okocha has openly endorsed and congratulated President Ernest Bai Koroma over the launching of an Energy Revolution that will bring solar energy to the country’s rural communities.

In his video message posted yesterday, the one-time prolific Nigerian midfielder had this to say:

“Hello My name is Austin J.J Okocha and I congratulate President Ernest Bai Koroma and the people of Sierra Leone for launching the Energy Revolution to bring solar energy to the rural communities. Energy is key to growth and development in Africa and Sierra Leone is doing the right thing. Thank you Mr President and God bless you all the people of Sierra Leone. Thank You!!”

Jay Jay Okocha’s message which has gone viral on social media came just after the President launched the Energy Revolution project in Freetown today May 10th 2016 at the Bintumani Conference Centre in Freetown.
The Energy Revolution project is part of a UK move to support ten African countries for universal access to energy by 2025. Sierra Leone is the first of ten African Countries to sign up to the agreement.
According to the agreement, government shall waive tax on certified renewable energy products to guarantee improved energy to Sierra Leoneans by the year 2020.
