Here is a list of the notable and most influential record labels in Nigeria at the moment. It is worthy to note that the main problem most upcoming artistes have is getting good management and record label for greater publicity.

1. SMD (SUPREME MAVIN DYNASTY):

Owned and managed by Don Jazzy. After successfully leading the now defunct MoHits Records, Don Jazzy set out to create something that people would not have thought possible at that stage in his career. Today, the Mavin Records is the best and foremost record label in Nigeria, with notable and popular artistes to its name such as Tiwa Savage, Dr. Sid, Reekado Bnaks, Korede Bello, D Prince, and Di’ja. The record label is fast becoming the most populous and widely accepted Record label in the country due to the amount of trends gained by its signed artiste. The record label is home to top and fast rising stars like Olamide, Lil Kesh, Viktoh, Chinko Ekun, Zino, Adekunle Gold, BBanks, Young John, Pheelz and Dj Enimoney.

3. HKN GANG:

HKN Gang is undoubtedly one of the leading and best record labels in Nigeria. Co-owned by Davido, the gang have been able to create a very good fusion of Afropop and Lifestyle. The Gang consists of B-Red, Sina Rambo, Davido, Danagog, King Special and DeeKay. We love us some HKN Music.

If there is one record that really seems to have that special magic which makes their song feel special, it’s EME. It is managed and owned by Banky W. It was home to top stars like WizKid and Skales. Nevertheless, the record label boost of stars like himself (Banky W), Shaydee and Niyola. DJ Xclusive is the label’s official DJ. Producers associated with the label include Masterkraft, Jay Sleek, Cobhams Asuquo, Spellz and Samklef, among others

7. MMMG – (Made Men Music Group)

Managed by Ubi Franklin and the Kukere master, Iyanya, the record label is home to top music artistes like Tekno, Selebobo and Emma Nyra.

8. NORTHSIDE INC:

Honestly, Jude Okoye has done so much for this record to survive and the label keeps getting better every day. Record home to the flashiest artistes including the lady with the German juice, Cynthia Morgan, northside inc is arguably one of the best record labels in Nigeria from its inception. Also knowing that it’s owned by the brothers of Musical Duo, PSquare, has bought the label its prestige.

9. FIVE STAR MUSIC:

Five Star Music is another top ranked record label in Nigeria. It is owned by Nigerian billionaire, Emeka Okonkwo popularly known as E-Money who happened to be the younger brother of ‘Limpopo’ singer Kcee. Five Star music label parades star artists like Kcee, Harrysong, Skiibii and E-Money’s wealth also reflect in their luxurious and flamboyant lifestyle. They are the makers of “Reggae Blues” beats.

10. HYPERTEK:

Hypertek came out as a shocking surprise to almost everyone following 2face’s rendition to have a label of his own. Now, there is no doubt that hypertek remains consistent by pushing out more vocals from their label. Signed to the record label include; Dammy Krane, 2face and others.
