The Senate has set up an
ad-hoc committee to investigate the immediate and remote causes of the recent
bloody clash that occurred between the Nigerian Army and the Shiitte Muslim
sect on Saturday in Zaria.
The Senate President,
Bukola Saraki, announced this after a one hour closed-door session.
He said the committee
has now been saddled with the responsibilities of investigating the attacks and
will advice the Federal Government on the way forward.
