Sierra Leone News: President Arrives in Guinea for Prof Conde's Inauguration

President Dr Ernest Bai Koroma has arrived safely in Conakry to attend the inauguration of President Professor Alpha Conde on his re-election for a second five-year term of office. The ceremony is currently taking place in the Guinean capital today, 14 December.
Guinea conducted presidential elections on October 11, 2015 and Prof Conde was declared winner of the polls by the electoral commission in the same month. He won nearly 58% of the vote thereby avoiding a run-off against closest rival Cellou Dalein Diallo.

Professor Alpha Conde took office in 2010, bringing to a halt two years of military rule.
President Koroma is accompanied by his amiable wife Mrs. Sia Nyama Koroma, the Ministers of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Dr Samura Kamara and Information and Communication Alhaji Alpha Kanu.
President Koroma and entourage received a warm welcome when his plane touched down at Gbessia International Airport in Conakry. He was received by his Guinean counterpart, Professor Alpha Conde.
When the convoy also arrived at Bell Ville where the Sierra Leone Embassy is located, President Koroma also received a rapturous reception from a large crowd of people, mostly Sierra Leoneans.
