President Muhammadu Buhari presided over the
Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting held on Wednesday, August 3, 2016. The
meeting was previously held weekly but the president cancelled it and instead,
made it an event held fortnightly.
The meeting had Professor Yemi Osinbajo, the vice
president, and other cabinet members in attendance. Among those present at the
meeting which was still holding at the time of this report
include Babatunde Fashola who heads three ministries, Rotimi Amaechi,
transport minister, Kemi Adeosun in charge of finance and Audu Ogbeh who
presides over the agriculture ministry.
At the meeting, critical issues
concerning the nation are discussed and policies are formulated after which
journalists are briefed by selected ministers. At the last FEC meeting for
example, the federal government appealed to state governments to take over
repair and maintenance of federal roads in their domain and get reimbursed
later.
