Relationship: 5 Ways To Prevent a Break-up

A breakup is painful and it hurts even more when you had hoped the relationship would last forever. Are there certain things we can do to prevent a breakup and ensure our relationships and marriages last? There are always warning signs before a breakup but most of us either ignore them or just fail to see them.
So how do we prevent a breakup? Correcting the warning signs is what you should do if you want to prevent a breakup in your relationship.
Below are 5 ways to prevent a breakup:

1. BRING BACK THE PASSION
One of the reasons many relationships end is due to lack of passion in the relationship. It’s so easy for people who have been in a relationship for years to lose the passion in the relationship. To prevent the passion in your relationship from fading off, it’s important you and your partner do activities together the both of you love and enjoy. Create time each week to have good fun with your partner.
2. MAKE YOUR PARTNER YOUR PRIORITY
Emotional disconnect in relationships is another reason many relationships crash. When every other thing becomes more important than your partner, you create an emotional disconnect in your relationship and this could lead to a breakup. Make your partner your priority and also try to have good conversations regularly with your partner because this helps bring you closer to your partner and prevent an emotional disconnect.
3. AVOID UNNECESSARY CONFLICTS
Some conflicts in our relationships are unnecessary and could be avoided. If you have any issues with your partner, try discussing it with your partner instead of letting it boil and get out of control. When you are angry about something your partner did, you should talk about it with your partner when you are calmer and in control of yourself. If you have the discussion when you are calmer, you avoid having an outburst as you would be in control of yourself.
4. AVOID UNSPOKEN EXPECTATIONS
Unspoken expectations could also lead to a breakup so it’s important you avoid this in your relationship. It’s important every expectation in your relationship is agreed and not assumed. Avoid assuming things and try to discuss things with your partner instead. Don’t just assume your partner should meet certain expectations in your relationship.
5. FOCUS MORE ON YOUR CHILD AND IGNORE YOUR PARTNER
This is more common among women in so many marriages. The moment a child is born, she neglects her husband and gives her child all the attention. Doing this would cause problems in your marriage that could lead to a breakup. Your kids shouldn’t come before your partner. You should understand that if you have a solid relationship with your spouse, it would transmit to your kids too.
While these points do not give a 100 per cent guarantee, they would go a long way in helping you avoid a breakup in your relationship.
