Nuhu Ribadu Visits APC Chieftain

A former chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Nuhu Ribadu is fueling speculation about a return to the All Progressives Congress (APC) sequel to his visit to a national leader of the party, Bisi Akande.
Nuhu Ribadu, who was the candidate of the Action Congress of Nigeria (AC) in the 2011 presidential election, however contested the 2015 Adamawa state governorship election on ticket the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

His visit on Sunday, December 27, to the country home of Bisi Akande who was the national chairman of the defunct Action Congress when Ribadu vied for Nigeria’s presidency in 2011 has sparked speculation of a reunion between him and the APC.

According to Premium Times, Ribadu, arrived at Akande’s compound at around 1.30pm along with a friend, Kashim Imam. The former EFCC boss then reportedly went straight into a closed-door session with the APC chieftain.
Ribadu was also reported to have attended a meeting of some APC members who had gathered for a Christmas visit with Akande.

Speaking on the purpose of his visit to Akande, Ribadu said: Baba Akande is a very important person to all of us. He is a father in the true sense of the word. From the day I decided to venture into politics I have benefited from his guidance and wisdom.”
“I have not seen Baba in a long time so I feel this is a good time to come and greet him at home. Of course I have never been far away from Baba’s fountain of wisdom. Party differences cannot be a reason to abandon old ties.”

On his part, Bisi Akande said the visit of Nuhu Ribadu had no political undertone, he described Ribadu “as an extended member of this community I said he should come and greet you”.
