Sierra Leone News: PMN hold post-Ebola meeting


A community base organization, People Multicultural Network (PMN) over the weekend concluded a successful post Ebola community meeting to raise awareness on the impact of the outbreak on market women, traditional and cultural leaders as well as other vulnerable groups in the country.

The meeting which was hosted at the Trade Center field in the east-end of Freetown was witness by thousands of people with lots of cultural diversities.
In his statement, the organization’s Chairman, Musa Sesay spoke about the establishment of PMN in 2006 and noted that since then, they have been working with several government institutions, including the Office of National Security (ONS).

He urged President Ernest Bai Koroma to consider challenging issues from the Ebola crisis in the implementation of the government’s post-Ebola recovery strategy as according to him, poverty have hindered women and youth in terms of doing business.
“I want to call on the President to provide us with credit loans for market women, provide some employment for youth and also look into the issues between the motor and bike riders and the traffic wing of the Sierra Leone Police,” he said.
