Man Plunged To His Death From 26th Floor After Eating Magic Mushrooms Which Made Him Believe He Could Fly

A young banker has plunged to his death from a 26th floor apartment after eating magic mushrooms. Alex Lagowitz, 23, was found dead on a third-floor patio directly under the bedroom window of his New York City flat around 10am on Sunday morning.

According to the New York Post , the credit trading analyst at Bank of America Merrill Lynch took four grams of the drug. It is unclear whether he jumped or fell from the window of the apartment in Manhattan's Murray Hill area.

His 22-year-old roommate Max Kaplan was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, according to the Post.
Lagowitz's father Ian paid tribute to his son on Facebook, changing his profile picture to a snap of them at Super Bowl 50 in Santa Clara, California.
Under the photograph, he wrote: "Alex Lagowitz RIP I will always love you."

Magic mushrooms can cause hallucinations.

A police narcotics expert says: "When you take these mushrooms, they make you hallucinate and, in some cases, if you take enough of them, they make you believe that you can fly like Superman."
