Barack Obama Says His Wife, Michelle Will Never Run For President

For anyone who might like to see Michelle Obama run for president as a Democrat, it’s time to rein in that early enthusiasm. Or so says her husband, President Barack Obama.

“Michelle will never run for office,” the president said in an interview with Rolling Stone magazine done the day after Donald Trump’s surprise win, and amid some social media swirl urging the first lady to consider throwing her hat in the ring.
“She is as talented a person as I know. You can see the incredible resonance she has with the American people. But I joke that she’s too sensible to want to be in politics,” Obama said.
Her confidence and style struck a strong chord on the campaign trail, where she supported Hillary Clinton. The first lady slammed Trump’s attitude toward and treatment of women.
Obama, who will be 53 when she leaves the White House, is the first black first lady in American history. Her husband is 55.
A Harvard-educated lawyer, she will leave the White House on January 20 enjoying sky-high ratings — approved by 79 percent of the American public, according to a recent Gallup survey. That makes her more popular than her husband, the first African American president of the United States.
Asked about her ambitions in the past, Michelle Obama has repeatedly said that she would not follow in the footsteps of Hillary Clinton, who ran for the presidency her husband Bill held from 1993-2001.

Japan Set To Open A ‘Spa-Musement’ Park

Japan set to come up with a vacation spot that combines the thrills of an amusement park with the relaxing benefits of a spa.

According to Mashable, the mayor of Beppu — home to some of Japan’s most famous hot springs — took to social media last week to share a quirky video of a hypothetical ‘spamusem

Featuring bathtubs on carousels, rollercoaster rides filled with spring water, and steamy trolley rides guaranteed to clear out every clogged pore, the video might at first appear to be all fun and games, but it’s actually anything but.

As explained towards the end of the clip, the Mayor would work to make the dreamy escape a reality if the YouTube video were to reach one million views.
And just four days after the video’s release, it did – with a current total of 1.9 million views.
If the park is anywhere near the video he released, it’s safe to say Beppu will be seeing a major spike in tourism very soon.

Nigeria News: Monthly Environmental Sanitation in Lagos State Cancelled By the State Government

The Lagos State Government has terminated the monthly environmental sanitation exercise which before now held for three hours on the last Saturday of every month.

The State Govt, in a statement by the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Steve Ayorinde, said the decision to cancel the monthly exercise followed a resolution arrived at Wednesday’s Executive Council meeting which approved the need for a robust review of the environmental laws and procedures in the state in order to meet the present day challenges and to promote a clean and healthy environment.

The Government noted that considering the present economic situation in the country, it was no longer appropriate to restrict movement of people for three hours in a mega city like Lagos at a time they should be pursuing commercial and entrepreneurial activities. According to government, in the last two decades, Lagos has grown exponentially into a mega city with the attendant huge environmental problems associated with managing a population of over twenty million people. But sadly, the environmental laws, policies and procedures being practiced in the State have not been able to match the phenomenal growth and the dream of a 24-hour economy, hence the need for the reform.
