Sierra Leone News: Ebola Fully Returns To Sierra Leone As Another Woman Tested Positive, 50 Victims Missing

The 38-year-old aunt and caregiver of the woman who died of ‪Ebola in Northern Sierra Leone has been tested positive for the virus, a source from Ministry of Health revealed yesterday.
Earlier reports informed that about 103 people who came in contact with the late Mariatu Jalloh, who died last Thursday,14th January, 2016 in Tonkoili District, has been placed in quarantine for medical watch. However, new report gathered that 18 high risk and 32 low risk contacts are nowhere to be found, posing great threat to the culpability of the virus.

It should also be recalled that the new spread of Ebola stirred demonstrations last Friday in front of the public hospital where the fatal case was discovered.
Witnesses in Tonkolili District, 91 miles from Freetown said young people took to the streets of its largest town, Magburaka demanding explanation from the hospital which treated 22-year old Mariama Jalloh but did not disclose that she was suffering from the disease.
They said the family of the late Ms. Jalloh washed her remains ahead of her burial without knowing the health implications of touching her body. The victim reportedly fell ill after returning from Kambia district, also in the north, which is a region close to the border with Guinea, where the epidemic that erupted in 2014 began.
