77 Senators Form New Faction; Vow to Strip Buhari of Power over EFCC

 


A new circus of 77 senators have been formed in the Senate according to Vanguard. 

These senators have vowed to stand behind Senate President Bukola Saraki and are also making moves to strip the presidency of its reported power over the EFCC. 

The G77 comprises mostly of new senators resolved to push forward an amendment bill to the law establishing the EFCC to among other things remove the president’s right as appointing power and transfer same to the National Judicial Council, NJC. 
The amendment aims to ensure that the minimum qualification for the office of executive chairman of the EFCC would be a Deputy Director General of Police, DIG.
