Akon Meets With Nigeria’s Minister Of Environment

Amina Mohammed who is the minister of environment met with international singer and rapper, Akon in New York on Friday, April 22. Information Nigeria reports that the meeting was to discuss the Great Green wall project which is a pan-African proposal set to battle desertification.


The Great Green wall project is expected to push the “green” movement in the continent from west to east so as to put a stop to desertification.  Akon has been at the forefront of humanitarian projects in Africa. His Lighting Africa project which was started in 2014 is aimed at providing electricity in the continent though solar energy.
